Wysoki Kamień - one of the most beautiful places in the Sudetes. There is a view of the Karkonosze Mountains, the Kaczawskie Mountains, Rudawy Janowickie, the Jizera Mountains and Foothills and the Jelenia Góra Valley. It is a peak in the Jizera Mountains with a height of 1,058 m above sea level.
At the top there are picturesque rocks, a shelter with a buffet with drinks and souvenirs, and a newly opened observation tower.
Wysoki Kamień is a peak in the Izera Mountains, standing at 1,058 meters above sea level. It is located on the Wysoki Grzbiet ridge, just above Szklarska Poręba, from which the shortest and most popular trails lead to the summit.
Two main trails lead to the summit: the red trail (part of the Main Sudeten Trail) from Szklarska Poręba to Świeradów-Zdrój, and the yellow trail from Szklarska Poręba Dolna via the so-called “Death Bend.” The hike from Szklarska Poręba takes about 1 hour.
Yes, at the summit there is a private mountain hut called Wysoki Kamień, along with a large stone observation tower. The hut offers hot drinks, hot meals, and souvenirs. You can also spend the night here.
The panorama from the summit stretches across the Karkonosze, Izera Mountains, Kaczawskie Mountains, and Rudawy Janowickie. On clear days, you can also see the Czech mountain ranges and the Jelenia Góra Valley.
Yes, due to the slight elevation gain and short hiking time (about 1 hour from Szklarska Poręba), the trail is also recommended for families with children. However, it’s worth remembering that part of the route goes through the forest and some sections may be rocky.
The most popular starting points are the parking lot on Turystyczna Street in Szklarska Poręba or the parking lot at Zakręt Śmierci. Both are paid lots and fill up quickly during the season.
