Observation tower on Czerniawska Kopa
The observation tower on Czerniawska Kopa stands in the western part of the Izera Mountains, on a peak located about 776 meters above sea level, in the Czerniawa-Zdrój area, which is a district of Świeradów-Zdrój. It is a quieter, more forested viewpoint than the popular attractions in the spa town center.
The structure is wooden, made from durable larch wood. It is about 15 meters high and has two observation decks; it can accommodate around 20 people at the same time. It was opened in November 2019 and stands in the place of the former observation tower known from old photographs.
From the terraces, you can view the panorama of the Izera Mountains and the Polish-Czech-German border area. In good visibility, one can see, among others, Stóg Izerski, Smrk, Sępia Góra, the Izera Foothills, the Kaczawskie Mountains, and the Lusatian Mountains. The view is sometimes partially limited by the surrounding forest and nearby massifs, which gives the place a more intimate, "mountain-forest" character rather than broad, open viewpoints.
Next to the tower, a rest area and bike racks have been prepared, which is practical as the area is close to Singletrack bike routes. It is a good destination for a short hiking or biking trip — especially for those who want to see the less crowded side of Świeradów-Zdrój and the Izera Mountains.
